A skid has no bottom deck. A crate encloses the load. A bin holds loose product. Each solves a load a flat pallet cannot.

Crates crossing a border need ISPM-15 too

Solid wood crates and skids in international trade follow the same ISPM-15 rules as pallets. Choose export grade on the form and give the destination country. See ISPM-15 explained.
