Denver is the distribution capital of the Mountain West, and it functions as an island: the nearest comparable freight market is six hundred miles away in any direction. That isolation is the single most important fact about buying pallets there.

It means local recycled supply is tighter than in the Midwest, prices run higher, and inbound freight economics are unusual — a great deal of packaging arrives full and never leaves, producing a surplus of used stock that does not always match what buyers need.
